But also it seemed to be a good place to go to for an ice cream.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/mylondondiary.co.uk\/2011\/07\/berlin\/20110724-d0736.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"450\" height=\"299\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Ices were no problem, but otherwise the place was depressing. A wide open space with people lost and wandering, surrounded with architecture largely of little interest.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/mylondondiary.co.uk\/2011\/07\/berlin\/20110724-d0741.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"450\" height=\"299\" \/><br \/>\nThe only real exception was the Teacher&#8217;s House, again architecturally bland, but enlivened by a band of mural with a Mexican feel.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/mylondondiary.co.uk\/2011\/07\/berlin\/20110724-d0759.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"399\" height=\"600\" \/><\/p>\n<p>I took far too many pictures of that mural, mainly with the 35mm equiv on the Fuji X100. The light was getting a little low.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/mylondondiary.co.uk\/2011\/07\/berlin\/20110724-d0773.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"399\" height=\"600\" \/><\/p>\n<p>To its side was a row of tents, with a rather more\u00a0 interesting shape.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/mylondondiary.co.uk\/2011\/07\/berlin\/20110724-d0774.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"450\" height=\"299\" \/><\/p>\n<p>I moved in closer and angled the camera up<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/mylondondiary.co.uk\/2011\/07\/berlin\/20110724-d0779.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"450\" height=\"299\" \/><\/p>\n<p>and photographed the other\u00a0side<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/mylondondiary.co.uk\/2011\/07\/berlin\/20110724-d0780.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"450\" height=\"299\" \/><\/p>\n<p>and the back.<\/p>\n<p>But it remained an awkward subject, a long thin strip, unsuited to my 1.5:1 aspect ratio.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/mylondondiary.co.uk\/2011\/07\/berlin\/20110724-d0789.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"399\" height=\"600\" \/><\/p>\n<p>I stepped back and took a final frame of the whole building then went to photograph the other feature of the area featured in the tourist guides, the World Clock.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/mylondondiary.co.uk\/2011\/07\/berlin\/20110724-d0791.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"399\" height=\"600\" \/><\/p>\n<p>I thought it looked more impressive if I combined it with the TV tower, but perhaps this was rather misleading.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/mylondondiary.co.uk\/2011\/07\/berlin\/20110724-d0792.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"399\" height=\"600\" \/><\/p>\n<p>and I moved to see it from another viewpoint, before going in closer.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/mylondondiary.co.uk\/2011\/07\/berlin\/20110724-d0793.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"450\" height=\"299\" \/><br \/>\nand closer still<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/mylondondiary.co.uk\/2011\/07\/berlin\/20110724-d0797.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"450\" height=\"299\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Underneath the clock a woman was playing a guitar<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/mylondondiary.co.uk\/2011\/07\/berlin\/20110724-d0798.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"450\" height=\"299\" \/><\/p>\n<p>And there was a proper clock so I could tell what time it really was.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/mylondondiary.co.uk\/2011\/07\/berlin\/20110724-d0802.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"450\" height=\"299\" \/><\/p>\n<p>There were some fountains too, but by now\u00a0 I was getting hungry and gave up taking photographs.Our walks around Berlin continue in later posts.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/re-photo.co.uk\/?p=9427\">Previous Berlin post<\/a><br \/>\n______________________________________________________<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><small>There are no adverts on this site and it receives no sponsorship, and I like to keep it that way.
