Last night I was at Eastcastle House for the start of Blurb’s London events, celebrating the new pop-up store and the 2010 Photography Book Now<\/a> winning books.\u00a0 Several of the winners were present including the Portfolio category winners, Dutch photographers Thijs groot Wassink <\/em>and Ruben Lundgren<\/em>, though we had to be content with Judith Stenneken, whose Last Call<\/em> won the $25,000 Grand Prize, on video.<\/p>\n Some of the judges were there too, and I talked briefly to Martin Parr and a number of old friends at the event, as well as drinking too much fizzy stuff (I’m sure it was the bubbles that made me just a little unsteady as I walked towards the bus stop after the event.)<\/p>\n After this morning’s session, the events continuing at the London Pop-Up store<\/a> until Nov 14 are free, and I’ll be there again talking on Sunday about ‘Before the Olympics<\/a>‘ and my other two Blurb books.
