Chelsea 87-10d-32-positive_2400\" width=\"533\" height=\"800\" \/><\/a>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Photographically there is a certain interest in rendering these essentially white surfaces &#8211; as some photographers have found with subjects like white eggs on a white plate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed-flickr wp-block-embed is-type-photo is-provider-flickr\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<a href=\"https:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/petermarshall\/50218180493\/in\/album-72157714881560307\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/50218180493_c6397a7bcc_c.jpg\" alt=\"Inverness Gardens, Kensington, Kensington &amp; Chelsea 87-10d-26-positive_2400\" width=\"529\" height=\"800\" \/><\/a>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>But I suppose that there might be more Freudian interpretations of at least some of these pictures.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed-flickr wp-block-embed is-type-photo is-provider-flickr\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<a href=\"https:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/petermarshall\/50218180618\/in\/album-72157714881560307\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/50218180618_8648a2e19f_z.jpg\" alt=\"Inverness Gardens, Kensington, Kensington &amp; Chelsea 87-10d-24-positive_2400\" width=\"640\" height=\"421\" \/><\/a>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>London developed hugely in the nineteenth century with stock brick for the workers and stucco for the middle classes, and I still feel something of an outsider in these wealthy areas, although some had become pretty down-at-heel by the 70s and 80s when I was making these pictures.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed-flickr wp-block-embed is-type-photo is-provider-flickr\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<a href=\"https:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/petermarshall\/50218835246\/in\/album-72157714881560307\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/50218835246_9247b3f2b6_c.jpg\" alt=\"Inverness Gardens, Kensington, Kensington &amp;
