Recently <a href=\"http:\/\/danheller.blogspot.com\/2010\/08\/obama-photo-copyright-controversy_16.html\" target=\"_blank\">Dan Heller<\/a> has posted a lengthy reply on his Photography Business blog to\u00a0 law professor Peter Friedman&#8217;s article<a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.geniocity.com\/friedman\/2010\/07\/faireys-obama-hope-poster-copied-nothing-from-garcias-photo-that-could-be-copyrighted\/\" target=\"_blank\"> Ruling Imagination: Law and Creativity<\/a> which asserts that Fairey had copied nothing that could be copyrightable. Both pieces are worth reading.<\/p>\n<p>There are many aspects where copyright law &#8211; in the UK as well as the US &#8211; lacks clarity both as to its intention as well as its application.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In Fairey or Not?
