It&#8217;s an unusual title in several ways, and comes from their <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"online project of the same name (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/openbridgeshull.com\/a-river-full-of-stories\/\" target=\"_blank\">online project of the same name<\/a>, a follow-up to their Open Bridges  (which <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"I wrote about here (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"http:\/\/re-photo.co.uk\/?p=9232\" target=\"_blank\">I wrote about here<\/a>) which was a part of Hull&#8217;s 2017 year as UK City of Culture. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.hullphotos.co.uk\/images\/1-oldtown\/19u32.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"450\" height=\"301\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"book launch (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/openbridgeshull.com\/2019\/10\/07\/a-river-full-of-stories-book-launch\/\" target=\"_blank\">book launch<\/a> took place a little over a week ago, though I&#8217;m sorry I was unable to attend as I was at a weekend meeting elsewhere. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I have a small portfolio with 6 pages of my work, all reproduced well and to a good size on the roughly 10&#215;11&#8243; pages, as well as three other large reproductions in the main body of the book.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.hullphotos.co.uk\/images\/2-riverhull\/85-5g-51.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The book is packed with interesting photography, both historical and contemporary of Hull and its river, and the presentation is one only made possible by considerable sponsorship attracted to the project acheived by Rich and Lou Duffy-Howard who curated and edited it both online and in print.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.hullphotos.co.uk\/images\/2-riverhull\/12q23.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"450\" height=\"301\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You can of course read about it in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hulldailymail.co.uk\/whats-on\/whats-on-news\/river-hull-heydays-new-book-3414200\">Hull Daily Mail<\/a> (though I don&#8217;t get a mention) and there is an exhibition about both projects in the centre of Hull   at the\u00a0<em>Hull Maritime Museum<\/em> in Queen Victoria Square\u00a0until the end of 2019. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.hullphotos.co.uk\/images\/2-riverhull\/34g26.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"450\" height=\"303\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The book is unusual in that it is not for sale, but contributors were given a free copy along with every library in Hull and the East Riding.  However you can still buy the Caf\u00e9 Royal Book\u00a0 <em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.caferoyalbooks.com\/shop\/peter-marshall-the-river-hull-197785?rq=Hull\">The River Hull 1977\u201385<\/a><\/em> which has most of the pictures in it &#8211; if on a rather smaller scale and less expensively reproduced.  My other Caf\u00e9 Royal Book on Hull, <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/www.caferoyalbooks.com\/shop\/peter-marshall-the-streets-of-hull-197985\" target=\"_blank\">The Streets of Hull 1979\u201385<\/a> is also still available. And you can see many more pictures on my Hull web site in the links below.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:10px\" class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-paragraph\">There are no adverts on this site and it receives no sponsorship, and I like to keep it that way.
